…we
must help the weak, remembering the words the
Lord Jesus Himself said: ‘It
is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
Acts 20:35
Question:
Who runs this place anyway?
Answer:
DHI Volunteers!
We
come in all sizes, shapes, colors and backgrounds.
Some are Jewish and some are Gentile. Some live
in the United States, some in Canada and a few
in Israel. We even have a volunteer in Australia!
So,
who are these people?
* Believers who have been to Israel and stopped
in to visit Holocaust Survivors.
* Israeli citizens who visit Survivors and deliver
packages or letters.
* Believers and others all over the world who
have adopted a Survivor, communicating with them
and essentially fulfilling Psalms 68:5, “setting
the lonely in families.”
* We have coordinators keeping in touch with the
adoptive families.
* There are board members who give of their time
to pray, make decisions based on that prayer,
and decide the best way to proceed in all areas
of our outreach.
* Our prayer warriors, without whom nothing would
be accomplished, are the backbone of God’s
work!
* Our supporters who keep DHI solvent. Nothing
happens unless the provision is given. For even
though all this volunteer time and help are free,
running the ministry is not.
YOU
can be a DHI volunteer too! Except for trips to
Israel, each position takes only a few hours a
month. There are several ways you can help:
1.
Visiting the Holyland? Let us
know and we will arrange for you to visit with
a few Holocaust Survivors and possibly deliver
gifts.
2. Adopting - We are looking
for special people who would like to make a Holocaust
Survivor part of their life. It is so easy and
very rewarding,
3. MPW’s - Mighty Prayer
Warriors, needed for our prayer team. The prayers
of these intercessors are the gas that drives
our vehicle of ministry.
4. Prayer Coordinators - who
would be willing to simply forward email prayer
requests to other MPW’s.
5. Volunteers - living in San
Antonio to help the DHI board with newsletters,
cards, miscellaneous items
6. Crafty? – we can always
use hand made items to bless the Survivors. Go
to Projects to see a list of possibilities.
7. Event Coordinators and Fundraisers
- are needed in various parts of the
USA to help arrange speaking engagements.
8. Partners – to give monthly
support for outreach to Holocaust Survivors.
9. Future Ministry Opportunities
– we will let you know when these opportunities
are available.
· Guest host/hostess when the Hospitality
House is established
· Ministry to the poor from the Hospitality
House
· Visiting Israel with a staff member
· Helping visit Survivors and record their
stories
We would love to count you among our staff of
volunteers. Come work for Y’shua and bask
in His presence and blessings! |
