Vawtermark Ministries

Vawtermark Ministries, Inc. is a non-profit organization which promotes Christian teaching, prayer and evangelism efforts. It is our firm belief that the Gospel of Jesus Christ, prayer, teaching, encouragement and practical aid are the keys to the ills of the world. We believe that an active concern for the felt needs of others and an explanation of all or part of the Gospel message will help and improve society. We believe that prayer is fundamental to all Christian endeavors. As a result, we are committed to equipping the Body of Christ to pray, and pray effectively, in both individual and corporate settings.

The activities include city, state, national and international teaching, preaching, prayer assignments, and prayer journeys, as well as activities in support of various other ministries, churches and individuals for the proclamation and dissemination of the Christian faith and practice. We are also involved with the writing, publishing and distribution of Christian literature, reports and correspondence. The ministry includes travel to places where hopelessness, suffering, lawlessness and social failure exist and where spiritual and tangible physical aid is needed and wanted.

Vawtermark Ministries, Inc. desires to be involved in the ministries of local churches and to minister to widows, orphans, the poor and those in need. We are interdenominational and nondenominational by design.

  • VISION: To encourage personal relationship with Jesus Christ through preaching, teaching, prayer and practical helping works.
  • PURPOSE: To receive and maintain funds to use and apply toward charitable, religious, scientific, literary and educational purposes that promote the Vision.
  • OBJECTIVES: Objectives are loosely defined as whatever we are able to do under the guidance of the Lord, that will promote the Vision.

RaJean is a wife, mother of three sons, and grandmother who would describe herself as “just someone who loves Jesus and likes to talk about Him.” She gave her life to the Lord Jesus Christ when she heard Him speak to her at age 2 1/2. Since then, her spiritual journey has been characterized by His keeping, protecting, teaching, guiding, healing and stretching power.

As a very devout child, RaJean dedicated herself to learning the Word of God, living and sharing what she learned. She began formal training on how to teach the Bible at age 12. Three years later, she was given her first class and has since taught scripture continuously. While she is a degreed secondary teacher, her students have been anyone willing to learn about God - from 1-85 year olds. Her favorite topic is prayer but she has taught many different biblical subjects and almost every book in the Bible. The format for these classes has varied from topical series, workshops and conferences, to one-time speaking and preaching engagements. In addition, she and her husband have opened their home to people with a variety of needs - unwed mothers, runaway teens, missionaries, young adults battling substance abuse, and single men and women. A strong supporter of the local church, RaJean has developed children’s Sunday school curriculum, trained teachers, lead women’s ministries, prayer ministries and held various other church positions, including working on the Department of Evangelism for a 25-county region for her church. She has also worked as a writer and editor.

RaJean is active in interdenominational prayer/evangelism efforts in both the Dallas area and East Texas. She teaches Bible classes every week to various groups, is an active leader in a city-wide prayer ministry in Dallas and in Van Zandt County, Texas, and works with Fair & Rodeo Evangelism whenever possible. As a connector of people and ministries, she’s committed to disciple and mentor others. As secretary/treasurer of Vawtermark Ministries, Inc., she leads or works on prayer teams, prayer journeys, evangelistic crusades, and ministry trips in the U.S. and to various countries. As an intercessor, she stays in touch with Intercessors for America, Capitol Hill Prayer Partners, the Sentinel Group and various other ministries in Israel, the U.S. and Northeast India. She and her husband, Gary helped pioneer Jaipur Children's Aid, Inc. with eight others to reach the poorest of the poor children from the slums of Jaipur, India.

Gary received Jesus Christ as his personal Savior and was baptized when he was 12 years old. He accepted Jesus’ lordship over his life in 1970 and began to walk empowered by the Holy Spirit. Growing up in a God-fearing family, he can’t remember a time when he wasn’t in church on Sunday.

He graduated from a Christian junior college in York, NE in 1965, completed a Bachelors Degree in Nacogdoches, TX in 1967, and earned a Masters from Southern Methodist University in Dallas in 1972. Through church and college experiences, he became a student of God’s Word and developed what would become a life-long interest in foreign missions.
At age 55, Gary retired from Texas Instruments in Dallas in 1999. His 31-year career with TI was spent primarily in the company’s employee communications department. Now, he and RaJean have more flexibility in responding to various ministry opportunities.

Gary has been active in leadership on the local church level, taught adult education classes for men and mixed groups, lead worship and participated in drama ministry and been involved in evangelism and bus ministry. He is an active leader in a Dallas city-wide, interdenominational prayer ministry and in Van Zandt County, Texas. He has co-lead prayer journeys with RaJean and has participated as a member of intercessory prayer teams during conferences such as Promise Keepers, Women of Faith, and events like The Call DC.

Gary and RaJean are founding board members of Jaipur Children’s Aid, an outreach mission in India providing children of the slums with food, clothing, shelter, health care, education and Bible teaching in a safe and loving Christian environment.

As president of Vawtermark Ministries, Inc., Gary’s gift of serving is often put to use helping with spiritual mapping projects and prayer assignments throughout the city, state, nation and world.
