“A father
to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God
in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families,
he leads forth the prisoners with singing…”
Psalm 68:5&6
God has put on our heart a people
that society has virtually forgotten: The Survivors
of the Holocaust of WWII. Most people think they
have all died by now or only a few remain. Actually,
there are over 300,000 Holocaust Survivors in
Israel alone.
What most of us do not consider
are the children that were in the concentration
camps and the ghettos, suffering along with their
parents – or watching as their parents were
shot, gassed, tortured or murdered. These children
of the Holocaust, and the older folks as well,
still remember everything, every detail, vividly.
It
is past time for us to remember them…
