Suburb - Projects for Ministry
Desert Hope International needs folks like you to lend a helping hand. Here are several ways in which you can participate in a tangible way!
1. Video copier plus video tapes - Many Survivors, not all, have their life story on a video, taped by the Shoah Foundation. They offer for us to listen to their tape, but it is in Russian. We would like to obtain a tape duplicator to make a copy and translate their stories. We would also like to provide a translated video to each adoptive family with a more complete history. To do this we need to improve our technology. - $400
2. Digital Camera $200 Donated and prayer answered! Thank you!
3. Airfare for my return to
Israel two times a year - $1400
4. Adopt a Volunteer – We have several volunteers who are personally visiting the Survivors in this outreach and living by faith. Three of them are Israeli citizens and one a faithful visitor to
Israel. Adopt a Volunteer and help provide part of their monthly support toward living expenses. - $100 / mo each.
5. Adopt an Israeli Coordinator – We now have five Field Coordinators, each one an Israeli citizen, who has stepped forward to give of their heart and time, voluntarily. We are currently trying to cover their expenses as they visit the Survivors and assist them wherever we can in their daily lives.
Each one of these Coordinators is either working a job that does not meet their needs or is not able to find employment at all. The economy in
Israel has resulted in a price surge hitting every part of daily life. Yet each one is willing to give of their time & pour themselves into these lonely people.
We are seeking to be able to provide $500/mo for each of them. If the Lord should lay it on your heart to assist them with any amount, contact us at info@deserthopeinternational.org to provide their basic needs. They are truly laborers of the Field, coordinating to prepare the harvest.

7. Purchase a car to use in
Israel for visiting Holocaust Survivors and help at Beit Shalom Hospitality House -$15,000.

14. Holocaust Survivor Coupons - Support of $18/mo for each Survivor to provide gift coupons which can be used in the grocery store, pharmacy or book store.
15. Holocaust Survivor Welcome Packs - purchase canned goods, rice, oatmeal, basic staples and a few candies at Russian stores in Israel. We expect to average 150 packs for six months.

Here is a chance to become involved in a “hands on” way!
· Welcome Packs for First Visits – hand lotion, body lotion, handkerchiefs, socks, pot holders, cloth place mats, memo pads, pencils, pens, kitchen towels, tea, toothpaste, toothbrushes, perfume or aftershave, deodorant (both men and women), shaving cream, razors, powder, hand sanitizing gel, combs, band aids, manicure kits – items that can be found in the dollar store, trial size bins or ask for a donation from any motel or hotel.
· Handmade or Handpicked items for Birthday or Holiday gifts – slippers, potholders, hot pads, kitchen towels, lap robes, silky and winter scarves, socks, hand lotion, caps, handkerchiefs, small tablecloths or table runners, calendars, writing paper, etc. Any personal item you would give for a gift.
